UAE DONATES MEDICAL SUPPLIES
At the initiative of President Khaltmaagiin Battulga, the United Arab Emirates is donating 450 boxes or 48 tons of medical supplies, including face masks and personal protective equipment as a contribution to Mongolia’s efforts to contain the pandemic spread.
In this regard, President Battulga welcomed Deputy PM and Head of the State Emergency Commission Ya.Sodbaatar and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of UAE to Mongolia Abdullah Abdul Rahman Al Tunaiji for a meeting, today.
In the beginning of the meeting, the President stated that although a year has passed since the outbreak of the global pandemic that have been taking a toll on the economies and health sectors around the world, international cooperation has been growing through development and commercialization of vaccines, and numerous other goodwill actions in forms of nonrefundable aid and support.
President Battulga applauded the timeliness of the donation made by the United Arab Emirates and highlighted the importance of these medical supplies, including masks and PPE, for the health and emergency workers. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the leaders of UAE on behalf of the people of Mongolia.
Ambassador Abdullah Abdul Rahman Al Tunaiji conveyed the greetings of UAE leaders to the President of Mongolia and expressed his confidence in Mongolia’s ability to contain the spread of the pandemic.
Deputy PM Ya.Sodbaatar briefed the dignitaries on the status of COVID-19 situations in Mongolia and informed the Ambassador that the first 150 boxes of the donation will be dispatched to the priority institutions and regions.
Chief of Staff of the Office of the President U.Shijir, Minister of Health T.Munkhsaikhan and Minister of Environment and Tourism D.Sarangerel were present.
