PRESIDENT KHURELSUKH PLEDGES COOPERATION WITH ACADEMIA
Today, a courtesy call was paid on President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh by Professor D.Regdel, the president of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences.
After congratulating the President, Professor D.Regdel expressed his hope that the President will extend cooperation with the scientific sector.
The president of the Academy expressed gratitude for the constant support extended by President Khurelsukh, who, during his term as the Prime Minister, initiated the establishment of the first Science and Innovation Center in anticipation of the 100th anniversary of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, and initiated and made possible the First Science Congress.
The meeting continued with Professor D.Regdel’s presentation on the progress of the construction of the Science and Innovation Center. It was reported that the power connection and earth works were complete and the overall construction process was in accordance with the schedule.
Professor D.Regdel also shared that the Academy ranks at 20th among 46 Asian countries by the number of its scientific publications.
President Khurelsukh, in turn, promised to pay more attention to the development of the scientific sector and to the effectiveness of innovation efforts, underlining that this year marks the 100th anniversary of the Academy.
The head of State highlighted his intention to collaborate with academia towards his goal for reducing environmental deterioration and desertification.
Noting the significance of the scientists’ inclusion in policymaking, President Khurelsukh instructed Professor Regdel to work closely and constructively with Ch.Lodoiravsal, Advisor to the President on Education, Science and Technology.
