We are holding the first-ever international judo tournament in Vladivostok in this century. I would like to take this opportunity to remind you of the first tournament which was held here among Russian and Japanese wrestlers exactly a hundred years ago in 1917.
I want to express our gratitude to our wonderful friend and famous judoka Yamashita, thanks to the efforts of whom we had a chance to restore this special tradition.
The tournament was organized with assistance of the International Judo Federation. Therefore, our deepest gratitude goes to IJF and especially to Mr.Vizer for their countless efforts for making this amazing sport even greater.
We will do everything necessary to organize the competition every year.
I would like to congratulate you all participants, athletes, specialists and judo enthusiasts and wish you to organize many more wonderful and memorable matches and events”.
