STATE ORDERS AND MEDALS PRESENTED
Today, President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga issued a decree to present state orders and medals to some members of the staff of the National Emergency Management Agency, the National Police Agency and the Ulaanbaatar Railway Joint Venture and some healthcare workers, who demonstrated courage and dexterity, fulfilled their duties toward the nation and the people with honor, and safeguarded many lives during the natural disaster in Airag Soum of Dornogobi Aimag.
President Battulga presented the Medal of Labor Honor, the Medal of Military Honor, and the Medal for Selflessness or Shudarga Juram to the recipients at an award ceremony held in the Chamber of Nine White Banners of the State Palace.
During the award ceremony, President Battulga said, “Early morning on August 12th, 2018, the Sainshand-bound train No.286 carrying 342 passengers derailed due to floodwaters in Airag Soum of Dornogobi Aimag. With the derailment of the locomotive, the baggage car, and three passenger cars, 96 passengers were exposed to the accident.
Emergency workers, police officers, doctors, and railway workers honorably fulfilled their civil and official duties and worked hard to ensure safety of the citizens and deliver assistance and emergency aid urgently, and recover from the accident shortly.”
The President applauded the hard work of the recipients of the state orders and medals.
