‘SCRIPT OF ETERNAL SKY-2018’ CALLIGRAPHY EXHIBITION OPENS
In anticipation of the Anniversary of Chinggis Khaan–National Pride Day, the ‘Script of Eternal Sky–2018’ international calligraphy exhibition at the initiative of the President of Mongolia opened today at the National Modern Arts Gallery.
The exhibition has been held annually since 2011. Calligraphy works of two categories, adult and student, are on display at the 7th exhibition. The adult category attracted 48 artists, including 22 from Mongolia, 3 from the Republic of Buryatia, Russia, 2 from the Republic of Kalmykia, Russia, 20 from the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China, and 1 from France.
President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga delivered remarks at the opening ceremony and presented awards to the artists of the best two works at the exhibition. The Best Calligraphy Prize went to calligraphy master T.Jamiyansuren for his typography work titled Script of Eternal Sky. A participant from the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China, S.Tsengel, won the Special Prize with his work titled Bileg Baramid which was written in three different scripts, traditional Mongolian, Clear (Tod), and Vagindra.
The exhibition will remain open to public until November 9th.
