President Khurelsukh Arrives in Kazakhstan for State Visit
President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa has arrived in the Republic of Kazakhstan for a state visit from April 20 to 23 at the invitation of President Kassym-Jomart Kemeluly Tokayev.
The president was welcomed at Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport in Astana by Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Murat Nurtleu, along with Mongolia’s Ambassador to Kazakhstan Batjargal Gunaajav and other officials.
During the visit, the two heads of state will hold a tête-à-tête meeting, official talks, and brief representatives of the media.
President Khurelsukh is also scheduled to meet with the Chairperson of the Parliament of Kazakhstan and the Prime Minister to exchange views on bilateral relations and cooperation.
The sides are expected to sign intergovernmental and inter-agency documents that will make an important contribution to strengthening the legal foundation of bilateral relations.
As part of the state visit, President Khurelsukh will attend the Regional Ecological Summit in Astana.

Bilateral trade turnover exceeded USD 58 million last year, up 7.2 percent compared with 2024. Mongolia exports food products, horse meat, wool, cashmere products, carpets, rugs, and transit vehicles to Kazakhstan, while importing flour products, confectionery, fruit, rice, tobacco, and cognac. A total of 74 companies with full Kazakh or joint investment are registered in Mongolia.
In 2025, more than 24,000 Kazakh citizens traveled to Mongolia, while the same number of Mongolian citizens visited Kazakhstan.
Some 575 Kazakh citizens hold residence permits in Mongolia, while more than 4,000 Mongolian citizens hold residence permits in Kazakhstan.
Since 2019, 25 Mongolian students have annually studied in Kazakhstan under scholarships provided by the Kazakh government.
In the 2024–2025 academic year, 11 students were enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs, while 22 students enrolled for the 2025–2026 academic year.
