POLAR STAR ORDER CONFERRED UPON HEAD OF REPUBLIC OF BURYATIA OF RUSSIAN FEDERATION
Head of the Republic of Buryatia of the Russiam Federation Alexey Sambuevich Tsydenov was awarded the Polar Star Order, in accordance with the decree of President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga, on January 18 in the State Palace.
The High State Prize – Polar Star Order was presented by Chief of Staff of the Office of the President Z.Enkhbold. According to the presidential decree, Buryatian leader is being awarded in recognition of his valuable contribution in Mongolia’s economy and motor-transport sector, and in promoting bilateral cooperation.
The awardee A.Tsydenov had been working as the Russian Chair of the working group on transport of the Joint Commission on Commercial-economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation between the Government of Mongolia and the Government of the Russian Federation in 2012-2017. Later in 2017, he was appointed the Head of the Republic of Buryatia.
During his time working as the Chair of the working group on transport, Alexey Tsydenov was highly responsible for all cooperation frameworks of Mongolia and Russia in railway, motorway, motor-transport, civil airline, water transport, sea transport, sea port utilization and training professional cadres in transport, and offered his collaboration in upgrading the cooperation.
For instance, Alexey Tsydenov gave special support in implementing visits of the Mongolia Minister of Road and Transport to the Russian Federation in 2014, 2015 and 2016. In 2014, President of Russia V.V.Putin paid a visit to Mongolia. During this visit, Alexey Tsydenov played an important role in signing of the Agreement on Renovation and Developmental Strategic Partnership in Ulaanbaatar Railway established by the Ministry of Road and Transport and Russian Railways JSC of Russia.
His support was highly valued in organizing the Trilateral Ministerial Meeting of Transport of 2015 in Ufa, Russia, and in the negotiation of the Project on the Program on Establishing Economic Corridor of Mongolia, Russia and China which was signed in 2016 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Previously, Alexey Tsydenov worked as Deputy Head of the Depatment for State Policy on Railway Transport of the Ministry of Transport of Russia in 2006-2009, head of division and deputy head at the Industry and Infrastructure Department of the Government of the Russian Federation in 2009-2012, and Director of the RF Federal Agency for Railway Transport in 2012.
