President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa and President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev delivered joint statements to representatives of the media following their official talks on April 21, 2026.

The President of Mongolia greeted his Kazakh counterpart and members of the press, expressing satisfaction that a state visit at the level of the Head of State of Mongolia was being carried out after a twenty-year interval.

In his remarks, President Khurelsukh emphasized that the exchange of state visits within less than two years clearly demonstrates the mutual aspiration of both sides to further deepen and expand bilateral relations and cooperation.

The two sides expressed satisfaction with reaching agreements to broaden cooperation in the fields of culture, science, healthcare, banking, finance, trade, economy, mineral resource development, humanitarian cooperation, mass media, and interregional relations.

The Kazakh side was invited to participate at a high level in the 17th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification, to be held in Ulaanbaatar in August 2026.

The parties also exchanged views on prospects for organizing a high-level meeting involving Mongolia within the framework of the Central Asia cooperation platform in the “C5+1” format.

President Khurelsukh highlighted Mongolia’s initiative under which the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution proclaiming July 11 as World Horse Day, expressing appreciation to the Republic of Kazakhstan for co-sponsoring and supporting the initiative.

The Head of State of Mongolia expressed confidence that the agreements reached and the jointly defined tasks would be steadily implemented for the sustainable development and prosperity of both countries and the well-being of their peoples. He stressed that bilateral relations within the framework of the Strategic Partnership would continue to develop dynamically and grow stronger.

In conclusion, President Khurelsukh conveyed sincere gratitude to the friendly people of Kazakhstan.

For his part, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed appreciation to President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa for accepting the invitation and undertaking a State Visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In his remarks, President Tokayev noted the historical and cultural closeness of the two nations, emphasizing their shared heritage of nomadic civilization, similarities in traditions, lifestyle, and mentality. The President of Kazakhstan warmly recalled his State Visit to Mongolia held more than a year ago, particularly highlighting the hospitality and friendly spirit of the Mongolian people.

President Tokayev underscored that the signing of the agreement establishing a “Strategic Partnership” marked a significant and historic milestone in the development of bilateral relations rooted in deep historical ties.

It was noted that the parliaments and relevant ministries of both countries currently maintain active cooperation, while the Intergovernmental Commission and the Business Council are functioning effectively.

According to him, the ongoing State Visit of the President of Mongolia will provide additional momentum for further strengthening cooperation.

The sides held substantive and constructive talks, reaching agreements to expand cooperation in political, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian, and other fields.

President Tokayev reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s commitment to developing comprehensive cooperation with Mongolia, emphasizing the convergence of positions on key regional and international issues.

In conclusion, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev wished continued success and prosperity to the President of Mongolia and the Mongolian people.
