PRESIDENT OF MONGOLIA KH.BATTULGA RECEIVES MEMBER OF GERMAN BUNDESTAG MANFRED GRUND
Today, President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga received a member of German Bundestag and chairman of the German-Central Asian parliamentary group, Mr. Manfred Grund.
During the meeting, President Battulga underlined the importance of strengthening economic ties and mobilizing major joint projects with Germany. The sides also exchanged positions on the ways to cooperate in the future and in certain areas, such as renewable energy production and defense.
As of 2017, bilateral trade turnover between Mongolia and Germany exceeded USD 140 million, in which, export accounts for over 10 million USD, while import accounts for nearly 130 million USD. In the same period, the amount of direct investment by Germany in Mongolia stood at USD 50 million, which constituted 0.8 percent of all direct foreign investment in the country.
