MEETING WITH WILLIAM BARR, ATTORNEY GENERAL OF THE UNITED STATES
President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga, who is paying a visit to the United States, met William Barr, Secretary of Justice and Attorney General of the United States, on August 2.
From the Mongolian side, Prosecutor General B.Jargalsaikhan and Chief of Staff to the President Z.Enkhbold attended the meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, the prosecutor’s offices of the two countries discussed the ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation and agreed to conduct personnel training.
The U.S. side expressed its readiness to provide assistance to Mongolia and immediately respond to its request on identifying and transferring to Mongolia movable and immovable properties that were purchased using money in offshore bank accounts or obtained by means of corruption as per certain provisions in the UN Convention against Corruption.
Both sides concluded that the meeting yielded a significant outcome to advance the cooperation between the prosecutor’s offices to a new level.
Attorney General Barr accepted the invitation to visit Mongolia and expressed his intention.
