MEETING WITH NARENDRA MODI, PRIME MINISTER OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDIA
On the sidelines of the Fifth Eastern Economic Forum, President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga met Prime Minister of the Republic of India Narendra Modi today.
At the beginning of the meeting, President Battulga wished successful forum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was attending the Eastern Economic Forum for the first time.
The President also informed Prime Minister Narendra Modi of the successful proceedings of the Oil Refinery Project in Mongolia, implemented after the latter’s visit to Mongolia in 2015, saying that the infrastructure works were moving forward, the rail line and paved road leading to the oil refinery had been built, and the power issues had been resolved. President Battulga also remarked that Mongolia was working towards intensified economic cooperation with India, especially in oil industry and other spheres.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the importance of increasing trade and economic ties and expressed his expectations for making more tangible steps during the upcoming visit of President Battulga to India and upgrading bilateral relationship as a result.
The sides exchanged views on bilateral agenda as well as regional security.
