AMBASSADOR OF THE ITALIAN REPUBLIC PRESENTS HER LETTER OF CREDENCE
The newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Italian Republic to Mongolia, Ms. Laura Bottà, presented her letter of credence to President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga today.
In this regard, President Battulga received Ambassador Bottà and discussed the ways to intensify cooperation in agriculture and tourism, sectors that will give impetus to the broadening of bilateral ties.
President Battulga underscored the fact that despite being situated in a tourism region, Mongolia wasn’t receiving substantial number of tourists, and that the local processing industry wasn’t gaining momentum despite of the increase in the number of domestic animals, while expressing interest in working with Italy, which is implementing successful policy and management approaches in these areas.
The sides discussed in depth the matter of adopting Italian management and technology within the joint implementation of certain projects and programs such as the Darkhan Leather Manufacturing Plant project and tourism policy.
The sides also exchanged views on holding cultural and other events in anticipation of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Italy, which will fall next year.
The meeting wrapped up as President Battulga conveyed his cordial greetings to his Italian counterpart, President Sergio Mattarella, and wished Ambassador Bottà a successful tenure.
