PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF GERMANY ARRIVES FOR A STATE VISIT
President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier, with his spouse Elke Büdenbender, arrived in Mongolia for a State Visit on February 07 at the invitation of President of Mongolia Ukhnaa Khurelsukh.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Batmunkh Battsetseg, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Mongolia Helmut Kulitz, and other officials greeted Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and the delegation at the Chinggis Khaan International Airport in Ulaanbaatar.
The State Visit is the fourth Presidential Visit of Germany to Mongolia and is taking place as part of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Mongolia and Germany established diplomatic relations on January 31, 1974, and upgraded the relations to “Comprehensive Partnership” in 2008.
