At the invitation of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Batmunkh Battsetseg, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Aleinik is paying an Official Visit to Mongolia on March 14-17, 2024.
On March 15, 2024, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Aleinik paid a courtesy call on President of Mongolia Ukhnaa Khurelsukh.
President Khurelsukh expressed gratitude for the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, a country that has long-standing traditionally friendly relations with Mongolia. The President pointed out that Belarusian friends and experts have made a valuable contribution to the development of Mongolia’s cities and rural areas, such as Erdenet, Darkhan, Nalaikh, Baganuur, and Shariin Gol.
The President identified potential for implementing joint projects under Mongolia’s National Campaigns “One Billion Trees” and “Food Supply and Security,” including establishing a complex in Mongolia for growing potted tree seedlings and increasing the production of staple food products, such as milk and dairy products.
The meeting touched upon the effective implementation of the high-level visit planned for the near future, issues of mutual interest, and relations and cooperation between Mongolia and the Republic of Belarus.
This is the second visit at the level of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus to Mongolia after 28 years. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Uladzimir Syanko paid the first official visit to Mongolia in 1996. The Belarusian delegation comprises the Deputy Minister of Industry, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food, and more than 20 business representatives.
