HEAD OF IRELAND’S PARLIAMENT LOWER HOUSE PAYS COURTESY CALL
President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga received today Mr. Sean Ó Fearghaíl, Head of the Lower House of Parliament of Ireland, on the sidelines of the latter’s visit to Mongolia at the invitation of the Chairman of the State Great Khural (Parliament) of Mongolia.
Beginning the meeting, the President highlighted that this year marks the 20th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries. He suggested discussing about options of commemorating the milestone anniversary and making the cooperation more active and fruitful.
Head of the Lower House of Irish Parliament Sean Ó Fearghaíl said Ireland is capable or cooperating with Mongolia in all sectors including tourism, agriculture, technology and education. After giving detailed introduction about composition of Irish economy and main goods of export and import, he expressed interest in promoting inter-parliamentary cooperation with Mongolia.
Mentioning that milk export of Ireland alone makes up for more than EUR 4.0 billion, to introduce Mongolia to highly-sophisticated agricultural technologies of Ireland will be significantly efficient for Mongolia which has nearly 70 million heads of livestock, underlined the President.
The dignitaries exchanged ideas on promoting Mongolia-Ireland cooperation in all areas, especially by providing business with more cooperation opportunities, through policy-making.
