CLOSING REMARKS BY CHIEF OF STAFF TO THE PRESIDENT Z.ENKHBOLD AT THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON NEUROSCIENCE

“Let me extend my greetings of the day to the honorary guests, speakers, scientists, doctors, specialists, and students who attended the honorary lecture of a Nobel Laureate.

After over 40 years of development of neuroscience in the world, scientific fields such as artificial intelligence technology, biotechnology, genetic engineering, stem-cell therapy, and space biology have advanced rapidly and are now part of everyday life.

In order to protect public health, upgrade the education of the specialists and the citizens, frame research-based government policy, record and monitor factors that may impact the national security, and accelerate the industrialization, it is necessary to develop neuroscience, which is considered as one of the leading scientific fields in the 21st century, and domesticate new technology in Mongolia.

During the Neuroscience–XXI century international scientific conference, held under the auspices of the President of Mongolia, Mr. Pierre Magistretti, President of International Brain Research Organization, talked about how neuroscience is playing a leading role in the 21st century. Nobel Laureate Mr. Edvard Moser discussed his own scientific discovery on the brain’s ability to sense space and time, and how this can be important in finding the cure for Alzheimer’s disease. Mr. Juan Lerma, Chief Editor of Neuroscience Journal, delivered an interesting presentation about a research on how the human behavior is detected at molecular and cellular levels.

Furthermore, Japanese scientists made a presentation on intellectual development, the relations of the body and the mind, and the difference between the development of human and animal brains whereas representatives of the Mongolian scientific community talked about the accomplishments of Mongolians in mind sports and opportunities to develop neuroscience and artificial intelligence in Mongolia.

A simple example of the accomplishments of young Mongolian memory athletes demonstrates that we have vast potentials in the fields of neuroscience and intelligence, while indicating the need to determine the secret of the intellectual capacity of Mongolians, find the answer, and develop this scientific field based on our potentials.

The role of neuroscience is crucial in the establishment of an advanced and strong society that provides a healthy, productive, happy, and stable living environment for Mongolians.

I would like to sincerely thank the honorary guests and speakers who have made a valuable contribution to the development of neuroscience in Mongolia.

The Nobel Laureate Lecture Series & scientific conference is planned to be held annually under the auspices of the President of Mongolia. The honorary lecture of the international scientific conference Neuroscience–XXI century, the first of the Lecture Series, has thus concluded.

We will be pleased to see you all at the Nobel Laureate Lecture of next year.

Thank you.”
