2019 SILK WAY RALLY WILL PASS THROUGH MONGOLIA, ANNOUNCES CHIEF OF STAFF Z.ENKHBOLD
Chief of Staff to the President Z.Enkhbold attended the opening ceremony of the Chinese stages of the 2018 Silk Way Rally, held in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, the People’s Republic of China, on September 23rd. The Silk Way Rally has been held annually since 2009.
In previous years, the rally had stages in Russia, Kazakhstan, and China, but this year, it has two stages in Russia and China. Next year, the rally will take place along the route Russia-Mongolia-China.
During the ceremony in Xi’an, Chief of Staff Z.Enkhbold made the announcement saying “The 2019 Silk Way Rally will be held under the auspices of the President of Mongolia, and the Rally will pass through Mongolia.”
In the 2017 Rally, 385 drivers from 35 countries crossed 9,599 km distance. The Rally was covered by 143 media crews and publicized in 196 countries, therefore, the Rally provides a major opportunity to promote tourism in the regions it reaches.
In attendance at the September 23rd ceremony were, Chief of Staff to the President of Mongolia Z.Enkhbold, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to China D.Gankhuyag, and Director of the Board of Silk Way-Speed Mongolia NGO A.Amgalan. From the organizer’s side, Vice Governor of Shaanxi Province Hu Minglang, Vice Minister of Sport of China Gao Zhidan, President of the Federation of Automobile and Motorcycle Sports of China Zhan GuoJun, and General Director of Silk Way Rally Oleg Kravchenko were present.
