AMBASSADOR OF FRANCE TO MONGOLIA PRESENTS LETTER OF CREDENCE
The newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Mongolia, Mr. Philippe Merlin, presented his credentials to President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga today.
In this regard, Ambassador Philippe Merlin paid a courtesy call on President Battulga and thanked him for the audience. The Ambassador expressed his readiness to put vigorous efforts into broadening bilateral relations while mentioning the fact that it was his wish to come to Mongolia, learn about the history, culture, and the people, and work with them.
President Battulga congratulated Ambassador Philippe Merlin on his appointment and conveyed his confidence that the Ambassador’s long-developed professional expertise will make a great contribution to the advancement of bilateral relations in all spheres, including economy, society, and people-to-people ties.
The sides discussed about projects and programs that will be implemented by the European Union in the agriculture and animal husbandry sectors of Mongolia.
Mongolia and France established diplomatic relations on April 27th, 1965. France opened its diplomatic mission in Mongolia in 1966 whereas the latter opened its Embassy in Paris in 1969.
