MEETING WITH NGUYEN XUAN PHUC, PRIME MINISTER OF VIETNAM
President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga met Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Nguyen Xuan Phuc on the first day of the ASEM summit.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc thanked President Battulga for taking the time to meet him on the sidelines of the summit and discussed about broadening bilateral economic cooperation and increasing external trade turnover.
In particular, the Prime Minister of Vietnam spoke about the possibility of importing coal and main raw materials of textile products, including woolen threads and animal skin, from Mongolia and exporting sugar, coffee, vegetables, and fruits to Mongolia.
While highlighting the importance of increasing bilateral trade turnover, President Battulga discussed a working visit he made to Vietnam when he was Minister of Food and Agriculture during which he studied the development and management of agriculture sector in the country, and exchanged views on the multiple opportunities to increase trade in this regard. President Battulga touched upon the activation of bilateral cooperation in the spheres of culture, arts, and sports and proposed to organize certain events in the margins of the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Vietnam.
The sides also exchanged views on the intensification of bilateral cooperation in all sectors and support towards each other in the international arena.
