MEETING WITH REPRESENTATIVES OF THE AMERICAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE IN MONGOLIA
Today, President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga received Oybek Khalilov, Chairman of Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Mongolia (AmCham), Adiya Oyungerel, Executive Director, and Jackson Cox, AmCham member.
After thanking President Battulga for taking the time to meet them, the AmCham representatives said that the Chamber was paying close attention to diversification of the Mongolian economy, in particular, development of agriculture sector, which is considered relatively competitive.
While mentioning about the complex process involving the introduction of a bill on international trade in the United States Congress, the representatives appreciated the efforts of the President and the Office of the President of Mongolia in promoting the Mongolia Third Neighbor Trade Act up to its introduction under consideration of the Congress and expressed their full support towards the bill. The representatives also said that the bill was, if passed, expected to leave positive impact on the growth of agriculture sector in Mongolia and increase women’s income.
During the meeting, the AmCham representatives made several proposals on organizing a bilateral business meeting aimed at attracting investment and promoting transparency in trade and business.
