OFFICIAL TALKS BETWEEN THE HEADS OF STATE OF MONGOLIA AND THE KYRGYZ REPUBLIC
President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga and President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov today held official talks in the Congress Hall of the Ala Archa State Residence. From the Kyrgyz side, government officials including Chyngyz Aiderbekov, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Kubatbek Boronov, First Deputy Prime Minister, were present.
At the beginning of the official talks, President Sooronbay Jeenbekov welcomed President Battulga to the Kyrgyz Republic and expressed his confidence that their official talks would prove as productive as their previous meeting on the sidelines of the SCO Summit last year.
The head of state of the Kyrgyz Republic stressed that the visit of the Mongolian president will help strengthen bilateral trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation, given the full opportunities for developing political cooperation.
President Battulga expressed his pleasure with paying an official visit to the Kyrgyz Republic at the invitation of President Sooronbay Jeenbekov and agreed that the visit will give impetus to the broadening of bilateral relations. President Battulga also congratulated the Kyrgyz Republic on chairing the Meeting of the Council of Heads of Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and wished a successful summit.
President Battulga said that Mongolia successfully implemented a multi-pillared and open foreign policy and strived to intensify relations and cooperation with Central Asian states and ensure national development through the development of tangible cooperation of mutual interchange. In this regard, President Battulga exchanged views with President Jeenbekov regarding the existing opportunities for developing mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation, in particular, in the areas of collaboration in the financial sector, identification and study of an efficient route of transportation, agricultural cooperation, and manufacturing of meat and meat products. The sides agreed upon working actively towards increasing bilateral trade turnover and organizing business meetings and exhibitions in the two countries.
President Jeenbekov touched upon the railway infrastructure development project that is being implemented in Mongolia, within the frame of which a railway is being built with domestic investment and by domestic work force, and expressed interest in gaining familiarity with the project, so as to introduce the practice in the railway project between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Moreover, the sides concurred that the opening of the Embassy of Mongolia in the Kyrgyz Republic was an indication of upgrade in bilateral cooperation and would help utilize the potentials for further cooperation. The sides also took the initiative to establish a working group for urgent implementation of the matters that were discussed at the official talks.
