MEETING WITH MUSTAFA ŞENTOP, SPEAKER OF THE GRAND NATIONAL ASSEMBLY OF TURKEY

The Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Mr. Mustafa Şentop, who is paying an official visit to Mongolia, paid a courtesy call on President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga today.

President Battulga welcomed the delegation of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, led by Speaker Mustafa Şentop, to Mongolia and emphasized the significance of the visit in bilateral relations and cooperation as Mongolia and Turkey share a comprehensive partnership cooperation.

The President noted that despite active bilateral cooperation in many spheres including politics, defense, culture, and education, it was necessary to focus on the strengthening of trade and economic relations on both sides. In particular, the President expressed interest in working with Turkey on introducing advanced leather production technology and in the tourism industry.

Speaker Mustafa Şentop appreciated the proposal from President Battulga saying that Turkey was open to sharing its experience in the areas of cashmere wool industry, leather production, textile manufacturing, and tourism, as well as jointly exporting goods into European markets.

At the end of the meeting, President Battulga remarked that it was important to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Turkey in a productive and tangible manner and wished successful visit to the delegation of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
