MONGOLIA-KYRGYZ REPUBLIC JOINT DECLARATION

At the invitation of President of Mongolia Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, President of the Kyrgyz Republic S.N. Japarov paid a State Visit to Mongolia on July 9-11.

The parties issued a Joint Declaration of Mongolia and the Kyrgyz Republic on Deepening Friendly Relations and Cooperation.

In the Joint Declaration of Mongolia and the Kyrgyz Republic on Deepening Friendly Relations and Cooperation, the Parties confirmed their willingness to further expand and strengthen friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation and agreed on the following issues.

The Parties:
  • Noted that there are no obstacles to the expansion and strengthening of political, trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian, and other spheres of relations;
  • Confirmed their mutual support on issues of mutual interest based on mutual trust, respect, equality, mutual benefit, and all-round cooperation;
  • Expressed their continued mutual support for initiatives within the framework of international and regional organizations such as the United Nations, the World Trade Organization, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), noting that the two countries have similar positions on international and regional issues;
  • Stated their intention to deepen concrete cooperation in the areas of poverty alleviation, ensuring food security, combating climate change and promoting green development;
  • Confirmed their willingness to actively cooperate in the fight against terrorism, extremism, illegal drug trafficking, the illegal arms trade, cross-border crime, and cybercrime, as well as to strengthen security, peace, and cooperation in Central Asia;
  • Agreed to further develop cooperation in the fields of infrastructure, road transport, energy, manufacturing, mining, digitalization, and tourism;
  • Agreed to train specialists in animal husbandry, veterinary clinic, plant quarantine, agricultural product processing, and machinery;
  • Noted the wide range of opportunities to supply meat, meat products, dairy products, wool, and leather from Mongolia to the Kyrgyz Republic, and to supply agricultural products from the Kyrgyz Republic to Mongolia;
  • Recognized the establishment of direct relations and cooperation between the enterprises of the two countries in the textile and garment industry, and the Mongolian side expressed readiness to supply raw materials for the Kyrgyz garment industry;
  • Agreed to revive air transportation and take required measures to develop international transit as landlocked countries;
  • Acknowledged the importance of expanding people-to-people ties and establishing sister-city relationships;
  • Agreed to support joint scientific and academic research and facilitate experience exchange.
  • Affirmed their interest in conducting joint research on the history, culture, spiritual, and physical heritage of the Mongolian and Kyrgyz peoples;
  • Decided to implement the national projects and programs in coordination, such as Mongolia’s “One Billion Trees” national campaign and the Kyrgyz Republic’s “Green Heritage” initiative;
  • Agreed to actively support cultural and humanitarian exchanges and expand cooperation in education, culture, sports, and other fields; and
  • Settled for exchanging and training students in Mongolian and Kyrgyz language studies at the universities of the two countries.
