MEETING WITH ANTONY BLINKEN, THE UNITED STATES SECRETARY OF STATE
Secretary of State of the United States of America Antony John Blinken, who is on an official visit to Mongolia at the invitation of Foreign Minister of Mongolia Battsetseg Batmunkh, paid a courtesy call on President of Mongolia Ukhnaa Khurelsukh on August 1, 2024.
At the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on issues of mutual interest in international and bilateral relations and cooperation.
Conveying his greetings to President of the United States Joe Biden, President Khurelsukh emphasized that Mongolia attaches high significance to its relations with the United States, an important “third neighbor” and trusted partner of Mongolia.
Secretary of State Blinken, in turn, delivered President Joe Biden’s greetings to President Khurelsukh.
President Khurelsukh noted that the second Compact Agreement jointly implemented by the Government of Mongolia and the Millennium Challenge Corporation of the United States, which is a symbol of friendship between the peoples of the two countries, is important for resolving the water supply challenges in Ulaanbaatar and ensuring sustainable economic development of Mongolia. President affirmed commitment to successfully implementing the Compact Agreement on schedule.
Secretary of State Blinken expressed commitment to deepening relations and cooperation between Mongolia and the United States and supporting Mongolia’s proposals and initiatives in the international and regional arenas.
The two sides agreed to actively develop mutually beneficial cooperation in clean energy, education, environment, food, agriculture, trade, and economy under the Strategic Third Neighbor Partnership between Mongolia and the United States.
