PRESIDENT OF THE SWISS CONFEDERATION ARRIVES FOR STATE VISIT
At the invitation of President of Mongolia Ukhnaa Khurelsukh, President of the Swiss Confederation Viola Amherd arrived in Mongolia on August 2, 2024, to pay a State Visit.
Foreign Minister of Mongolia Batmunkh Battsetseg, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to Mongolia Juerg Burri, and other officials greeted President Viola Amherd and the Swiss delegation at the Chinggis Khaan International Airport of Mongolia.
The Visit, taking place as part of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Swiss Confederation, is the first State Visit by a Swiss Head of State to Mongolia.
Mongolia and the Swiss Confederation established diplomatic relations on May 22, 1964, and the two countries have friendly relations and cooperation.
