Kazakhstan Aims to Become a Regional Digital Hub by 2029
As part of his State Visit to Kazakhstan, President Khurelsukh Ukhnaa visited the “Alem.AI” International Artificial Intelligence Center in Astana.
This center, which is the first specialized AI hub in Kazakhstan, aims to introduce advanced artificial intelligence technologies into science, education, the startup ecosystem, and public administration, thereby enhancing competitiveness in the digital sector.
Kazakhstan has set a goal to become a regional digital hub by 2029 and to increase exports of AI products and services to USD 5 billion. As part of this effort, the country has introduced a tiered education system that begins training children from the age of 12, along with programs that help young people find jobs in AI and connect with investors.
In addition, Kazakhstan is developing methods for processing big data and using AI to optimize and accelerate services in urban planning, healthcare, and social welfare, while also advancing the automation of public services.
Kazakhstan is strongly supporting development based on knowledge, innovation, and artificial intelligence, and has declared 2026 as the “Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence,” according to the Office of the President of Mongolia.
