MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF NEPAL PAYS COURTESY CALL ON PRESIDENT

President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga today received Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nepal Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, who is heading the Nepali delegation to the Inaugural Intergovernmental Meeting of International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries being held on June 11th-12th in Ulaanbaatar.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Pradeep Kumar Gyawali thanked President Battulga for the meeting and said that Nepal is attaching high importance to the Inaugural Intergovernmental Meeting. The Minister expressed Nepal’s interest in exchanging experience with Mongolia in overcoming some common barriers the two countries face due to their landlocked status.

Mr. Pradeep Kumar Gyawali congratulated Mongolia on establishing an Intergovernmental Agreement on Transit Transport by Railway with Russia, conveying his view that the Agreement is an exemplary document for landlocked countries, highly important in increasing their export.

For his part, President Battulga welcomed Mr. Pradeep Kumar Gyawali to Mongolia, while touching upon the shared Buddhist culture between Mongolia and Nepal. The President stressed that Mongolia and Nepal, as two landlocked developing countries in the Asia-Pacific region, should develop bilateral relations and cooperate at the regional and international levels.

President Battulga wished success to the Inaugural Intergovernmental Meeting of International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries and Nepal’s participation in the International Think Tank for Landlocked Developing Countries.
