CLOSING REMARKS BY PRESIDENT OF MONGOLIA KHALTMAAGIIN BATTULGA AT THE NAADAM FESTIVITY
Fellow Naadam participants,
The emergence of winners in all the competitions has brought the end of days, when Mongolian tradition, culture and art blossomed, child jockeys’ songs echoed, well-aimed archers cheered, and mighty wrestlers demonstrated their strength. I thank all the Naadam participants, who have waited for the Mongol Naadam all year and dedicated their efforts and wit in preparing for the festivity. The Mongol Naadam dwells and flourishes on your hard work, pure respect for the tradition and culture and passion for sports.
I wish success to everyone who watched, reported on and cheered during the Naadam festivity. I would also like to thank Mongolians and Mongolian ethnic groups abroad, who watched the festivity via internet and television and enjoyed the event with us. The Mongol Naadam is one of the few events that attract all Mongolians and ethnic groups like a magnet, drawing their attention to Mongolia and the capital city Ulaanbaatar for a few days.
I extend my gratitude and best wishes to all the foreign guests and delegates, who made it to Mongolia to watch the Naadam festivity, with respect to our tradition and culture.
The MONGOL NAADAM hereby concludes. Let’s meet at and enjoy the Naadam next year.
