MEETING WITH THOMAS BACH, PRESIDENT OF THE INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIC COMMITTEE
President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga met Thomas Bach, President of the International Olympic Committee, on October 24th.
After thanking President Battulga for meeting him on the sidelines of the World Investment Forum, Mr. Thomas Bach discussed the functions of the Committee, elaborating into the development of sports in Mongolia as well as the Committee’s role in Mongolia.
For instance, the Committee reported to President Battulga about the professional assistance it is providing to young athletes in anticipation of Mongolia’s hosting of the 2020 Children of Asia Games in Ulaanbaatar. The Committee also touched upon its activities in Mongolia, including granting scholarships to and coaching Mongolian athletes within the Olympic Solidarity program.
President Battulga spoke about the ongoing preparations for the Children of Asia Games and expressed gratitude for the Olympic scholarships and professional assistance provided to Mongolian athletes in some sports. The President also expressed his interest in continuing the program in other sports and cooperating closely with the Committee, while discussing other matters in depth.
