MEETING WITH GIANNI INFANTINO, PRESIDENT OF THE FIFA
President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga received Jianni Infantino, President of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), today.
At the beginning of the meeting, President Battulga remarked on the substantial support of the FIFA towards the development of football in Mongolia and appreciated the visit of Mr. Infantino to Mongolia with the purpose of expanding inter-federation cooperation.
The President mentioned about an international standard football pitch that has been built in Ulaanbaatar within the framework of many ongoing projects that are being implemented in connection to the upcoming Children of Asia 2020 International Sports Games, while discussing the possibility of building a closed football stadium. President Battulga emphasized that Mongolia needed the expertise and consultation of the FIFA in building a football stadium and requested Mr. Infantino to support and work with the Mongolian Football Federation in this area.
The sides also reached understanding on the matter of installing air domes over two of the existing football pitches in Ulaanbaatar and financing the work with equal sum from both sides.
Furthermore, it was mentioned that there were ongoing renovation works at football pitches in rural areas given the fact that team sports, especially football, help young people spend their leisure time productively and mature as a member of the society, thus the sided agreed on working together on the training of coaches and methodological assistance at the inter-federation level.
