MEETING WITH PAUL BULCKE, CO-CHAIRMAN OF THE GOVERNING COUNCIL THE 2030 WATER RESOURCES GROUP AND CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF NESTLÉ S.A
President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga met Paul Bulcke, Co-Chairman of the Governing Council of the 2030 Water Resources Group and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nestlé S.A, today in Davos, Switzerland.
The 2030 Water Resources Group is a public, private, civil society partnership that works towards helping countries close the gap between water demand and supply by 2030.
Mr. Bulcke congratulated Mongolia on adopting an amendment to the Law on Water and appreciated the efforts and leadership of President Battulga in the process that led towards the adoption of the amendment bill.
President Battulga stressed that the enactment of the amendment will mean the reestablishment of a government agency in charge of water as the matter was previously handled by multiple ministries and agencies, and Mr. Bulcke remarked that it was an exemplary policy amendment. Furthermore, it was decided that the 2030 Water Resources Group would send a delegation to Mongolia this year to assess the implications and outcome of the amendment.
The sides also exchanged views on the usage of surface water in mining, collection of greywater, and storage of rain and snow water as Mongolia expressed its interest in adopting the latest technology in this area.
