PRESIDENT BATTULGA INVITES GRETA THUNBERG TO MONGOLIA

President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga, who is attending the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, met environmental activist on climate change Greta Thunberg and invited her to the International Youth Green Games, an event that will take place in Mongolia.

The International Youth Green Games aims to bring forward the voices of young people against climate change through sporting games. It is expected to take place in Ulaanbaatar on September 13-19, 2020.

To inherit our planet to the future generation, to live in a fair, peaceful, accessible society, to be happy, content and have a better life, the United Nations has developed and is implementing the Sustainable Development Goals – 2030 with the support of all countries of the world, societies, private organizations and citizens.

Mongolia, the organizer of the International Youth Green Games, is in full support of the SDGs and is working towards major objectives such as making eco-friendly choices, raising awareness on the importance of conservation of nature, and giving an understanding to the younger generation on the basis of their participation. The Games will engage young people up to the age of 18 from 195 member states of the United Nations in 19 sports.
