PRESIDENT BATTULGA: POPULATION GROWTH PROMOTING POLICY MUST NEVER BE OVERLOOKED

President of Mongolia Khaltmaagiin Battulga has presented the Orders of Glorious Mother to the mothers from Dornogovi, Umnugovi and Dundgovi provinces, and Bayanzurkh and Chingeltei Districts of Ulaanbaatar.

This year, a total of 10,677 mothers are to receive the Order of Glorious Mother on the national level. First Class Orders are to be conferred upon 760 mothers, while Second Class Orders will go to 9,957 mothers, nationwide.

Upon closing today’s ceremony for presenting Orders to the mothers from Chingeltei District, President Battulga said in his speech: “Policy promoting growth of the country’s population and helping mothers to raise their children in secure environment must never be overlooked, and in fact, the policy should be prioritized. Conferral of this Order is a beautiful tradition of Mongolian statehood, a representation of traditional mentality of the people of Mongolia and their great respect for mothers”.

The Glorious Mother Orders have been conferred each year since 1959. According to the Law on Rewarding Mothers with Multiple Children, passed in 2010, Second Class Order is conferred on mothers who birthed and raised 4 or more children, and First Class Order is conferred on mothers who birthed and raised 6 or more children.

Due to this year’s circumstances and in pursuance to COVID-19 precaution efforts, the President is presenting some orders on the local level and with adjusted time schedule.
