President of Mongolia Arrives in Türkiye for a State Visit
At the invitation of President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa arrived in Ankara, the capital city of the Republic of Türkiye, on January 15, 2025, with a State Visit.
Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Türkiye Ali Yerlikaya and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Republic of Türkiye Munkhbayar Gombosuren greeted President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa, First Lady Bolortsetseg Luvsandorj, and the Mongolian delegation at the Ankara Esenboğa International Airport of Türkiye.
This is the first State Visit by the President of Mongolia to the Republic of Türkiye in 21 years and is organized as part of the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Republic of Türkiye.
During the State Visit, the two Heads of State will hold a tête-à-tête, official talks, and a press briefing. The two sides will sign more than 10 cooperation documents in environment, road, transport, infrastructure, forestry, and law, and Intergovernmental Agreements on the “Cooperation in Youth, and Sports,” “Cooperation in Education,” and “Cooperation in Health and Medical Sciences.”
Mongolia and the Republic of Türkiye established diplomatic relations on June 24, 1969. Mongolia opened its embassy in Ankara in 1997, and the Republic of Türkiye opened its embassy in Ulaanbaatar in 1996. Mongolia and the Republic of Türkiye have Comprehensive Partnership. President of Mongolia Bagabandi Natsag paid State Visits to the Republic of Türkiye in 1998 and 2004. President of the Republic of Türkiye Demirel Süleyman paid a State Visit to Mongolia in 1995, and President of the Republic of Türkiye Ahmet Necdet Sezer paid a State Visit to Mongolia in 2002.
